Why our Bio Coal

A number of companies in India have switched from furnace oil, fire-wood and coal to biomass briquettes to save costs on boiler fuels. Many companies are using biomass briquettes as a fuel to earn Carbon Credit which is indirect advantage. Demand and use of bio coal briquettes is increasing constantly due to number of reasons like hike in costs of other non-renewable fuels like FO, diesel, natural gas, coal, fire-wood and electricity. The need for energy resource security and pollution control measures is increasing day by day.

Though there are other Bio-Coal suppliers but the bottom-line problem in other bio coal is clinker formation in the boilers due to presence of sand, stone and other impurities which cannot be converted to free ash, hence it clogs in the boiler and needs to be cleaned which causes down time in the industry which is even larger hassle to overcome as the biomass is not properly screened before making briquettes.

Like any European or common wealth country, At Deep Enterprises & Co we have stringent rules to process our biomass such as, screening for all impurities, grinding, dust separation and then the biomass is briquetted. This makes it a proper international standard briquette. Hence at the end use, there will be no clinker formation. The briquettes will burn uniformly.

  • Loose biomass is fed automatically through Front-End Loader to a Conveyor
  • Material passes on to a vibratory screen for sand removal.
  • Material is dropped in to a pneumatic de-stoner to remove stone and metal.
  • Material passes into a hammer mill for uniform grinding.
  • Fine Dust is separated through a 16 bag dust filtration system.
  • Material is collected into a buffer storage bin.
  • Material now goes into the briquetting machine.
  • A proper storage area of 15000 Sq. Ft is used to store 2000 MT for monsoon.

Features & Benefits

  • Easy to burn – lower ignition temperature compared to other fuels.
  • Smokeless burning and sustained combustion and the temperature requirement are achieved due to very efficient combustion.
  • Leaves only white ash without any fixed carbon.
  • Full heat value is utilized.
  • No Clinker formation and uniform burning means better boiler efficiency for end use.
  • Easy to handle and 1000 kgs of briquettes per cubic meter can be stored and transported against 50 kgs of agro-waste.
  • No pollution to the environment and no toxic gas and Sulphur emission and even no odour.
  • No chemicals are used what so ever.
  • Very well suited to Gasifier which can run any engine because of the combustion efficiency and solid form.
  • There will be no corrosion effect on boiler equipment resulting in negligible maintenance cost. Coal on the other hand produces Sulphur dioxide, which on mixing with moisture produces sulfuric acid and corrosive acid.
  • Users of bio coal briquettes are eligible for carbon credits.

Social Benefits

  • A TREE SAVED IS MORE THAN A TREE GROWN.
  • Pollution Free, because of no sulphur or any hazardous material- No black smoke!!
  • We need not spend more energy and money to grow more trees if we could avoid cutting them.
  • Thus, all ecological disaster arising from deforestation can be checked.
  • Saves the environment from pollution, all conventional fuel pollutes the atmosphere.
  • Avoids using conventional resources like coal which means that future generation will not be deprived of its utility.
  • Money spent on forestation programs can be minimized or more land can be forested.
  • Due to efficient utilization of agro-waste, agriculturists will receive some income from their agro-waste, will make their farming more remunerative and attractive and thereby their standard of living will be improved.

Biomass briquettes can be used as a solid fuel in boiler, Gasifier unit, furnace, kiln, oven, heater etc. in manufacturing plants.
